In preparation for today’s 3 Hours of Imola, Greaves Motorsport ran through a programme designed to bring team newcomer, David Heinemeier Hansson, up to speed. David settled well into the new car and team and he was soon quickly up to pace in Free Practice Two, which was at least dry. He coped well with the wet Free Practice, something of a baptism of fire. There has been little running in the dry and there fore to achieve the optimal race set up. Imola is notorious as a circuit that tests brakes to the limit and the lack of track time in race conditions has led to some concern over this aspect of performance.
In this morning’s Qualifying Session, Tom Kimber-Smith took fifth position with a time of 1:35.606, leaving the team’s Nissan powered Zytek prototype handily placed for the race.
The 3 Hours of Imola will begin at 16:00 CET this afternoon. Follow all the action, including live streaming and live timing, at www.europeanlemansseries.com
