The newly restored Gibson-Zytek LM P2 had technical issues in Race 1, the ECU battery died – It hadn’t been changed since winning the European Le Mans championship in 2017. Starting at the back of the 30 car field was going to be a challenge. Driver, James Littlejohn was at the wheel. He steadily worked his way through the field, up to 6th after 20 minutes. Finishing 2nd in class.
James last drove the car in 2014.
European Le Mans Series – Silverstone
April 18th – 19th
Tony Wells and James Littlejohn teamed up with Greaves Motorsport for the first round of the ELMS at Silverstone. After a successful run in the LMP2 machine at the official Paul Ricard test, they were joined by experienced third driver James Walker.
Qualifying did not go to plan with James only managing 8th position on his LMP2 debut.
James started the race and immediately got stuck in. During the first stint a few overtaking manovers saw James move the 28 car up into third overall, this then became the lead after the pit stops. The trio eventually ended up P6 after getting caught behind a late safety car.
